Heghine Pilosyan
Architect-Urbanist, Specialisation in Affordable Housing and Sustainability

Heghine Pilosyan is an architect-urbanist with a dedicated focus on affordable housing studies and sustainable transitions.
Her academic training includes Matser’s degrees in Architecture from the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, a double degree in Sustainable Architecture and a diploma in multidisciplinary studies from Polytechnic Universities of Turin and Milan, and a postgraduate diploma in Developing Social Housing Projects from the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies, Erasmus University Rotterdam.
During professional experience spanning over 15 years, she spent over a year working in two Chinese cities: in a German company based in Beijing designing projects to Passivhaus standards, and in a company in Tianjin working on projects ranging from individual buildings to revitalization of ghost cities. In 2019, she co-founded an architectural design studio.
Heghine has developed and delivered courses on Introduction to Sustainable Architecture, and Urban Economics at the European University Armenia. Her current work revolves around housing issues in Armenia – for affordable, sustainable housing solutions that address the needs of various target groups.
In 2022, Heghine participated in developing a climate change adaptation plan for the city of Yerevan, and in 2023 – an alternative report summarising the SDG 11 indicators in the Armenian cities.
